  The Exhibition of paintings “Human Rights and Football” organized by the National Human Rights Committee NHRC (Qatar) on Monday, March 7th, the Human Rights Council

At the opening of the exhibition of the National Human Rights Committee (Qatar) NHRC , its Secretary-General, His Excellency Mr. Sultan bin Hassan Al Jamali, said: Hosting the 202 World Cup is a conceptual pearl in football. Choosing the State of Qatar to explore the 2022 World Cup was an occasion to consider the process of traveling human rights concepts in major sporting events.  In this context, an example is the Exhibition “Human Rights and Football”, whose paintings were drawn by the Qatari artist Ahmed Al-Maadeed.

Giovanni Dicola, Special Adviser to the Office of the Deputy Director-General of the International Labor Organization, said: The State of Qatar has made great progress with regard to labor reforms, and Dicula ruled out that football was the one that was able to motivate these reforms.

His Excellency Mr. Francesco Motta, Head of the Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa Branch of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, said that the State of Qatar has participated in a meaningful way with regard to hosting the World Cup in improving workers’ rights through stronger legislation and strengthening cooperation with the International Labor Organization, which has led To respect the rights of all workers in Qatar. He added, “We are sure that the State of Qatar will welcome the whole world in this important event.
