The National Human Rights Committee-Qatar (NHRC)considers the protection of workers’ rights as one of its most important priorities and interests, according to Dr. Mohammed bin Saif Al-Kuwari, Vice-Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee, during the intensive visits organized by the committee to some Asian and African countries, especially those that have the largest labor communities in the State of Qatar.
Stressing the importance of expatriate labor as a productive energy and an important element in promoting and achieving sustainable development, and for this reason Qatar’s interest in promoting and protecting human rights is reflected as a strategic choice for the state.

During his visit to India and Nepal, the Vice-Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Al-Kuwari concluded a number of agreements with officials and those interested in human rights issues in order to promote the rights of workers and expatriate workers in accordance with international norms conventions.
On the other hand, Asian officials, led by Amsaf Saeed, Undersecretary of the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, praised the efforts of the State of Qatar in promoting human rights and its laws. The two sides also reviewed the conditions of Indian workers and the way the visa center of the State of Qatar operates in India.
