The Republic of North Macedonia concluded an official visit by an international media delegation consisting of ten journalists from the International Press Association in Switzerland, held from February 25 to March 1, 2025, on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of independence. The visit, under the theme “North Macedonia: 33 Years of Independence on the Threshold of EU Membership,” aimed to highlight the country’s political and social developments and strengthen relations with international media.
During the visit, the delegation met with senior political officials in North Macedonia, including Deputy Prime Minister Izet Mehmeti, Stevo Pendarovski the 5th President of North Macedonia , as well as prominent ambassadors and diplomats. Meetings were also held with local leaders in the city of Tetovo. The delegation engaged with local media outlets, including RTV Maced-Alb.
In addition to official meetings, the delegation visited significant cultural landmarks such as the colorful mosque in Tetovo and the Mother Teresa Foundation Museum in Skopje, along with an exploratory trip to Lake Matka. The visit represented an important opportunity to present a comprehensive image of North Macedonia’s journey toward independence, development, and the enhancement of media cooperation with the international press.
