Promoting Ethical, Inclusive, and Human-Centred AI for Global Impact
At the AI for Good Global Summit 2025 held in Geneva, the Geneva Graduate Institute played a pivotal role in advancing discussions on responsible AI governance. The summit gathered over 11,000 participants worldwide to address AI’s societal impact and the urgent need for frameworks rooted in human rights, democracy, and inclusivity.
Institute leaders emphasized that AI is inherently political and called for deliberate, human-centred digital transformation. High-level dialogues with diplomats and UN officials underscored the importance of global coordination, preserving cultural diversity, and enhancing digital inclusion—particularly for women and marginalized communities.
In addition to policy discussions, the Institute hosted a workshop on open-source AI innovation for public services, spotlighting initiatives like the IEEE–ITU GenAI for Good Challenge and Kenya’s AI-powered chatbot, showcasing transparent, citizen-focused technological solutions.
Committed to bridging the technical, ethical, and political dimensions of AI, the Geneva Graduate Institute will continue building international partnerships to ensure AI technologies advance the public good globally.
